Adventure tourism, boutique online businesses, accommodation and tours were among the local offerings in the spotlight at the third Scenic Rim Tourism Showcase.
Tourism businesses got to hear about and network with their fellow local operators at the event, hosted at Black Hall Kalbar on 29 January, 2020.
More than 60 people including tourism operators, Visitor Information Centre volunteers and industry stakeholders filled Black Hall, a boutique country wedding and functions space behind White Chapel in the centre of Kalbar.
Guests heard industry updates from Brisbane Marketing, Destination Scenic Rim and the Scenic Rim Regional Council, and presentations from their peers.
Local operators April Cornwell (White Chapel, Black Hall and Herrmann House), Wendy Harris (Scenic Rim Adventure Park), Nara Stevens (Drayhorse Shires), Innes Larkin (Mt Barney Lodge), David Kennedy (Witches Falls Cottages), Kathie and James Buswell (Cave Rock Cottages) and Gemma Irwin (Coco and Myrtle) presented at the Tourism Showcase.
Guests also heard from local cafe owner-operator Lindsay Yong Gee from award-winning Lovett at Kalbar.
Lindsay, who catered for the Tourism Showcase, supports local producers by using local products in her food, and Lovett Kalbar is an Eat Local Scenic Rim Accredited Locavore.
