Jasmin Skincare is a niche, all natural and certified organic skincare company that’s been operating from Tamborine Mountain in the Scenic Rim since late 2005.
The business started in Brisbane in 1999 and now has offices in Hong Kong, Japan, China, USA and Europe.
Jasmin Organics founding managing director, Lihua Song, says the business has achieved significant milestones through hard work, much private investment.
“We pride ourselves on having strong ethics and environmental consciousness and believe what we have created here at Tamborine Mountain is better than competing products. We offer a better product line, due to the use of all naturally derived and Certified Organic ingredients and far more luxurious, but environmentally friendly packaging.
“In fact, we strongly believe the Jasmin range to be the world’s most exclusive all natural and certified organic skincare range, by price, performance and presentation. Our international awards are now repeatedly proving such claims.”
Jasmin Skincare is a complete range of certified organic skincare and lipstick products developed specifically for the discerning woman who is looking for the purest and most luxurious skincare possible. The range surpasses the boundaries of traditional thinking in skincare by replacing harmful chemicals with precious natural organic ingredients. The results are exhilarating with this ‘pure natural beauty’ approach and our customer’s feeling of luxury is taken to new heights.
Unlike almost all other beauty companies, Jasmin Skincare operates its own Certified Organic farm, processing and manufacturing facilities, all based at the top of Tamborine Mountain, in the Scenic Rim. All of our facilities are Certified Organic to four international standards being both the Australian OFC and ACO standards, the USDA American standards and most recently the new EU COSMOS integrated certification.
The Company is an early innovator in the Natural and Organic Skincare market, having received their first certification back in 2002.
“We believe we are one the very few true Organic Skincare Companies in the world that has complete botanical plant to finished product ‘show and tell’ facilities, all of which are certified organic. Our Australian operations can transparently show the Jasmin production flow from the farm, with many of the ingredients shown growing, to a research and development laboratory, then processing and manufacturing through to packaging, all in our Tamborine Mountain facilities.
“We recently opened our facilities to the public to provide a world first transparency into our day to day operations.”
Lihua says the business produces two distinct brand ranges – Jasmine Organics (named after her daughter) and Koala Baby, a range designed for babies and new mums. The business uses its own mountain spring water and keeps its own bee colonies, which help pollinate flowers and also provide honey and beeswax for the products.
“Overall we have more than 1500 formulations and all our ingredients are sourced locally, with the exception of the rose oil which has to be sourced from Bulgaria,” Lihua explains.
“Our business aims for the very high end of the market and up to 70 per cent of our products are sold overseas, mainly to customers in Hong Kong and China. In Australia we sell online, from our facility at Tamborine Mountain, as well as selected stockists.”
The farm and factory are open to tour groups daily from 10am to 3pm. Bookings are essential. The factory has capacity to produce up to 30,000 units a day during a six-hour production shift.
“We have welcomed thousands of tourists since we opened,” she says.
Lihua has many plans for the future, including an expansion into glamping eco tents, an organic restaurant, a spa and wellness centre and a yoga centre She is also progressing plans for a museum and information centre to highlight the role of bees and sell products derived from bees, such as royal jelly and honey.
Jasmin Organics has won numerous awards, including a Green Formulations Award at the global Sustainable Beauty Awards 2013. Lihua was named Scenic Rim Business Person of the Year in 2015.
