Scenic Rim Shines at EKKA
The Scenic Rim has taken centre stage this week at the EKKA with multiple educational institutions taking part in Brisbane’s biggest agricultural event.
Beaudesert State High School engaged students from their highly successful ag program, competing with two senior and two junior steers. Kate Bandrowski, head of the school’s ag program, said a number of students attended the exhibition each day, offering an opportunity to see presentations and speak with industry representatives.
Boonah State High School also represented with the school’s Cattle Club competing at the exhibition, showing numerous animals at the event. The students’ preparation and dedication was rewarded with a swag of ribbons. See the club’s wrap-up video here. Boonah State High School will also feature on ABC’s Landline focused on their school’s strong community partnerships and how they create pathways for students.

Farmer James Kemp of Christmas Creek Farm also showcased lambs, turkeys,cattle, geese, goats, alpacas and more at Brisbane’s EKKA this week. Coordinatingthe Baby Animal Nursery exhibit at this year’s show.
James proudly educated young and old EKKA visitors on the process of farming whilst offering an opportunity to pet and cuddle baby animals.
