Council’s draft Waste Management and Resource Recovery Strategy 2021-2026 is now available for community feedback.
Delivery of effective waste services is critical to maintaining the region’s attractiveness to new residents, businesses and our visitors. The draft strategy includes clear targets, priority areas and actions to increase recycling and resource recovery, and dramatically reduce how much waste goes to landfill (by sending waste to landfill, we lose the opportunity to reuse, repurpose or recover for energy valuable resources).
More information about the draft strategy is available on Council’s Have your Say page on our website. As a local business, we encourage you to read through the draft strategy and have your say on how waste is managed in the future.
In addition, Council will be holding three community information sessions at the following locations
- Beaudesert – Tuesday 2 February, The Centre, 5pm
- Tamborine Mountain – Wednesday 3 February, Vonda Youngman Centre, 5pm
- Boonah – Tuesday 9 February, Boonah Cultural Centre, 5pm
Submissions for feedback will close 4.30pm, Friday 19 February.
Given COVID-19 restrictions on numbers in venues, please call Council on 5540 5111 or email mail@scenicrim.qld.gov.au to register.
