Through a Request For Quote (RFQ) process, Scenic Rim Regional Council, recently sought to engage an appropriately skilled industry specialist to develop a Scenic Rim Smart Region Strategy (the Strategy) for the region. The Strategy will ensure our business and community embraces the global digital trend in order to advance our economy, attract investment, build prosperity and improve our residents’ lives and lifestyles, ultimately enhancing the livability of the Scenic Rim region. Through the RFQ process, Council appointed CyQIQ to research and write the strategy.
The aim is for Scenic Rim Regional Council to adopt the Strategy that will have been developed in consultation with business, industry and community. The strategy will present the region’s digital priorities and affirms Council’s commitment to smart collaboration, planning, design and local services to ensure full community and business participation in the digital economy.
This project not only considers the needs of local community and industry, but also the services Council provides to both external and internal customers.
To date, three workshops have been held to collate responses to build the foundations of the strategy. Attendees include internal Council services, Elected members and Council Executive Leadership Team, and representatives from Scenic Rim businesses and industries.
As a critical member of the Scenic Rim business community, if you were unable to attend the workshop on Monday 14 December, we invite you to submit your comments via the . The purpose of the workshop and survey is to understand the local context, economy and the future needs of the region. Responses will allow the CyQIQ team to understand the current state, capture any ideas, activities and needs from industry to be considered in relation to how they may fit into a wider Smart Region Strategy to support prosperity and growth within the region.
Questions will include:
- What are the challenges you face in the region; which ones are unique to the region?
- What economic categories are major contributors to the region?
- What role do you feel technology plays in innovation and future opportunities?
We look forward to your input.
