It’s an exciting time in the Scenic Rim, as two significant local tourism businesses change hands.
Kooroomba Vineyard and Lavender Farm at Mt Alford has had a change of hands.
Entrepreneurial couple Doogan and Verity O’Hanlon recently sold the business to pursue other opportunities.
In local media, the O’Hanlons praised the Scenic Rim Regional Council for its efforts in supporting and promoting tourism to the district and in particular Eat Local Week.
It is still business as usual at Kooroomba, with Executive Chef Daniel Groneberg and his team still wowing guests with fantastic creations in the kitchen, and the venue still in high demand for weddings and functions.
New owners Mr Jeh Wong and family have exciting plans for the venue. Watch this space!
And from July 1, The Bunyip Scenic Rim Resort will become known as Mount French Lodge.
Robert and Marina Izatt, who originally built the resort in 2008, are retiring and handing over the reins to new owners Tamara and James Pearce of Redgum Hospitality.
The property sits high on Mount French overlooking the Fassifern Valley and the Great Dividing Range.
The Lodge sits in the middle of a 100 acre working cattle property encompassing an abundance of flora and fauna.
Tamara and James will look after guests as Robert and Marina have done. Again, watch this space!
