Council Trainee Graduates of 2025

Scenic Rim Regional Council is proud to celebrate the achievements of its 2025 trainee graduates, recognising the dedication, skills and contributions of five individuals who have successfully completed their 12-month traineeships with Council.

The graduates were formally acknowledged at a graduation ceremony held late last month, marking the culmination of a year of hands-on learning, professional development and meaningful work experience across a range of Council service areas.

Council’s trainee graduate program plays an important role in building local capability, supporting workforce participation and creating clear pathways into long-term employment. Through the program, participants gain nationally recognised qualifications while contributing directly to Council operations, delivering real benefits for both individuals and the wider community.

Collectively, the 2025 trainee cohort achieved:

  • Two Certificate III qualifications in Business

  • One Certificate III in Information Technology

  • Two Certificate IV qualifications in Library and Information Services

Importantly, the program continues to deliver strong employment outcomes, with two of the five graduates securing full-time positions with Council following the completion of their traineeships.

Scenic Rim Regional Council has a strong track record of retaining trainees and supporting them to build long-term careers within the organisation. In recent years:

  • 2024–2025: Council hosted six trainees, one apprentice and one school-based apprentice, with four of the six trainees securing ongoing roles and apprentices continuing their four-year programs.

  • 2023–2024: Eight trainees and one apprentice participated, with six trainees securing positions upon completion and one still employed with Council.

  • 2022–2023: Eight trainees completed the program, with four continuing their employment with Council.

  • 2021–2022: Seven trainees participated, with three remaining employed with Council.

These outcomes highlight the program’s value as a workforce development model that supports skills growth, improves employment retention and strengthens organisational capability.
