Queensland Budget 2026/2027 Regional Delivery Plan Highlights

The Queensland Government's 2026–27 State Budget is set to deliver significant benefits for the Scenic Rim, with funding announced for major infrastructure, business support, health services, tourism, transport and community facilities that will help strengthen the region's economy and improve quality of life.

Several projects have been developed in partnership with Scenic Rim Regional Council, demonstrating the value of strong advocacy and collaboration between all levels of government to deliver lasting outcomes for local communities.

Among the most significant investments is $7.3 million over two years to deliver trunk water, sewerage and road infrastructure supporting the Golf Links Park Estate in Beaudesert. The project will unlock new residential development, supporting population growth while creating opportunities for local businesses, trades and service providers.

Several infrastructure projects will be delivered in partnership with Scenic Rim Regional Council. Funding has been committed towards a new PCYC in Beaudesert, while inclusive change facilities will be constructed at Coronation Park in Boonah and Selwyn Park in Beaudesert through the South-East Queensland City Deal. These projects will provide modern facilities that support participation in community sport and recreation while enhancing the region's capacity to host events.

The Budget also includes funding for a new two-court indoor multi-sports facility in Beaudesert, Mount Tamborine Gallery Walk improvements including a new off-road car park, upgraded public toilet and pedestrian crossing and footpaths, and the delivery of a replacement auxiliary fire and rescue station at Boonah. These investments are further strengthening the region's infrastructure and supporting the region’s community.

For local businesses, funding has been dedicated to supporting the Small and Family Business First Action Statement. Providing support for small and family businesses across a range of areas, including a new $10 million program to support small and family businesses to adopt AI solutions. This investment and the ongoing work to deliver actions from the Small and Family Business First Action Statement will continue to support local small businesses and the communities where they operate.

Other support measures which will be delivered for small business include, $19 million over four years for the Small Business Apprenticeship Pilot Program, and $16.8 million over three years to maintain the Small Business Support Network, which provides free financial counselling and wellbeing support for small business leaders.

The Skilling Queenslanders for Work program as part of an ongoing $80 million Skilling Queenslanders for Work Investment) was also highlighted as it strives to provide better services through a stronger economy. This program offers 8 employment and training programs supporting the Scenic Rim to assist the unemployed and underemployed gain skills, qualifications and experience to find and keep a job.

Additionally, the Scenic Rim region's vital agricultural sector is recognised through continued investment in growing Queensland's primary industries, supporting innovation and initiatives aimed at increasing agricultural productivity and strengthening one of the Scenic Rim's most important economic drivers.
