Scenic Rim Council Celebrates Top Industry Honours
Scenic Rim Regional Council claimed two major awards at the IPWEA Queensland and Northern Territory Awards, recognising excellence in public works and Infrastructure.
Council’s Beaudesert Town Centre Revitalisation Project earned top honours for transforming the heart of Beaudesert into a safer, more inclusive and vibrant civic space.
Mayor Tom Sharp said the win proves regional councils can rival – and even outperform – larger city counterparts.
“For a regional council like ours to take out the top titles is a huge achievement and a testament to the innovation, skill and pride of our staff and community,” Cr Sharp said.
Delivered in partnership with the community, the Australian and Queensland Governments and key construction partners, the project was recognised for its technical excellence, sustainability and cultural inclusion.
Council acknowledged construction partners Complete Urban, Redfrost, John Mongard Landscape Architect, ACS Engineers, Alder Construction, Rod Anderson Construction and Naturform, for their contribution to the project.
The awards were presented at the IPWEA QNT Annual Conference in Brisbane on 9 October 2025.
