Scenic Rim Strikes Gold at the 2025 Queensland Tourism Awards
The Scenic Rim has once again cemented its reputation as Queensland’s premier paddock-to-plate destination, taking home Gold for Excellence in Food Tourism at the 2025 Queensland Tourism Awards for the region’s celebrated Eat Local Movement.
The win—announced at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Friday 14 November —adds to the region’s growing list of accolades, following Silver in 2022 and Bronze in 2023 and 2024.
Mayor Tom Sharp said the award reflects the passion and dedication behind Eat Local, a movement connecting visitors to the Scenic Rim with the rich and diverse food experience industry within the region.
From Eat Local Month and the Farm Gate Trail to Scenic Rim Farm Box, Council’s Food Ambassador program and a diverse range of year-round immersive experiences, the Eat Local Movement has grown from post-flood recovery efforts into a flagship tourism brand showcasing the region at its best.
Tourism and Regional Events Portfolio Councillor Jennifer Sanders said the Gold Award celebrates not just one program, but the collective effort of an agritourism community that continues to elevate the Scenic Rim on state, national and international stages.
